Marching Band
The Deer Valley marching band has had a very long lasting tradition of excellence. This group usually begins in late July or early August with band camp that teaches all basics that are needed to succeed throughout the marching season. This group participates in many football half-time shows and in competitions throughout Arizona and the united states. The season is usually concluded Mid-November.

Performance, Advanced and Jazz Ensebmle
Deer Valley High School has one of the best high school jazz bands in the nation with national exposure from winning the 2002 and 2006 Selmer Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Jazz band contest. Performance and Advanced Jazz are buy audition only. A second sememster Jazz Ensemble is open to any band member.

Wind Ensemble
The finest musicians at Deer Valley. All members must audition to be in the Wind Ensemble. Full participation in marching band is required. All members of Performance Jazz are members of Wind Ensemble - NO EXCEPTIONS. This class meets during 2nd period for 2007-2008. Concert Dress is all Black

Symphonic Winds
Not to be confused with the Symphonic Band. All members must audition and participate in the marching band. All members of Advanced Jazz are members of the Symphonic Winds. This class meets during 6th period for 2007-2008. Concert Dress is all Black

Is made up of all 4th hour wind players. Other members include some percussion If your child is in band and not in the Marching Band, then they are in Symphonic Band

Percussion / Drumline
This unique group of people are the beat of the band. Many extra hours of preparation go into producing a percussion show. The Percussion is taught by Paragon Arts

Colorguard / Winterguard
Color guard is an extremely integral part of the band. Without these people the band just wouldn't be the same. They add that flare to the show that takes the visual aspect of band to the next level. Winter Guard is a between marching season activity that involves preparing a Auxiliary show and competing through the months.
